The Canadian Network of Community Land Trust’s Agricultural CLT Working Group (“Ag CLT Group”) is a member-led discussion space focused on agricultural and rural community land trusts (CLT). The group meets monthly over Zoom.

All are welcome to join the monthly discussions. The group is led by CNCLT members (become a member here) and thrives with the active participation of members. The current co-chairs of the Ag CLT Group are Jon Gagnon (Sundance Commons) and Jacob Kearey-Moreland. CNCLT staff provide coordination and administrative support.

Goals

The Ag CLT Group’s goals are to:

  • Provide a landing space for those interested in agricultural CLTs, alternative farmland tenure models, ecovillages, and related ideas;
  • Enable knowledge sharing among those working in this space;
  • Increase knowledge and skills within the group by inviting subject matter experts to present and answer questions on specific subtopics;
  • Form connections between CNCLT, CNCLT members, and other organizations and individuals working in this space;
  • Provide direction for CNCLT resources, including webinars.

InSOILdarity Webinar Series

In 2024-2025, CNCLT partnered with the National Farmers Foundation for a webinar series called In SOILdarity. The topics for these webinars largely came out of the Ag CLT Group’s discussions, with presentations from several group attendees. You can watch all four webinars here!
