The Northern Community Land Trust Society (NCLTS), in partnership with local governments, seeks to build a portfolio of permanently affordable housing in Yukon.
False Creek South Community Housing Trust | The FCS CHT is a community-based organization that sustains existing and develops new affordable homes to protect and amplify the livability of False Creek South’s mixed-income community. They see exciting potential in the FCS CHT as a vehicle for addressing many of the key concerns and needs of their community, as well as the wider Vancouver community facing an unprecedented housing crisis. |
Aboriginal Land Trust | Aboriginal Land Trust serves people in need with hope and Indigenous ways of knowing and being. It is a BC non-profit society that helps create affordable housing for indigenous communities. |
Community Land Trust Foundation of BC | The Community Land Trust Foundation of BC works to create, preserve and steward permanently affordable homes. They are housed under CHF BC, the Co-operative Housing Foundation of BC. |
Denman Community Housing Society | The Denman Community Housing Society is working to create secure, long-term affordable housing for low-income earners and those on fixed incomes. |
Downtown Eastside Community Land Trust | The DTES CLT aims to acquire land and premises mainly in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, British Columbia and own such real property in perpetuity in order to construct, hold, manage and maintain affordable housing for residents of the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver of low income or low and moderate income; and |
Cultural Land Trust | The Cultural Land Trust, associated with the Vancouver-based arts nonprofit 221a, aims to increase long term security of tenure of space for cultural and arts purposes in BC through ownership and stewardship of land and buildings. |
Hogan’s Alley Community Land Trust | The Hogan’s Alley Society’s mission is to advance the social, political, economic and cultural well-being of people of African descent (Black people) through the delivery of inclusive housing, built spaces, and culturally informed programming and operations. |
Gabriola Island Land Stewards Society | The Gabriola Island Land Stewards (GILSS) works to benefit Gabriolans and Snuneymuxw First Nation members and relieve poverty by acquiring and stewarding land on Gabriola Island under a community ownership model that promotes long-term community benefits, affordability and sustainability, and enables democratic local planning. |
Kamloops Community Land Trust Foundation | In Kamloops, there is strong desire and momentum to increase the supply of housing; in particular to provide and preserve attainable housing opportunities for those with low to moderate incomes, including seniors. The Kamloops CLT Foundations seeks to prioritize the long-term housing needs of the community and seek proposals to develop land to meet a specific need. With land costs and large profits removed from the development cost, the result is low-cost, attainable market housing. |
Arts and Community Infrastructure (ACI) Foundation | Located in Victoria, the Arts and Community Infrastructure (ACI) Foundation is exploring the possibilities of a CLT model for their work. |
Calgary Urban Indigenous Community Land Trust | The Calgary Urban Indigenous Community Land Trust Development Project will identify and develop a localized Indigenous CLT model. The model will be co-designed with the community, including Indigenous Elders and urban Indigenous community stakeholders. |
Canmoreland CLT | Canmoreland CLT’s mission is community conservation: to acquire, hold, and steward space of all kinds ensuring its highest and best use for the community, now and into the future. Community conservation is achieved by removing space from the speculative market, preserving it as permanently accessible, affordable, and sustainable space for those who live, work, and raise their families in the Bow Valley, Alberta. |
West Broadway Community Land Trust | The West Broadway Community Land Trust works to protect and strengthen our diverse, community-focused neighbourhood by resisting real estate speculation, preserving affordability, and ensuring long-term housing stability for all residents in the West Broadway neighbourhood of Winnipeg, Manitoba. |
Community Land Trust of Niagara | CLT of Niagara aims to acquire and hold land and buildings to provide affordable housing to residents of St. Catharines and the surrounding area, in partnership with other agencies and organizations interested in relieving poverty and homelessness. | |

Parkdale Neighbourhood Land Trust | Parkdale Neighbourhood Land Trust (PNLT) is a not-for-profit community land trust in Parkdale led by a group of residents and organizations trying to protect the social, cultural and economic diversity of Parkdale by redefining how land is used and developed. Through the community land trust model, PNLT owns land and assures it is used tomeet the needs of the community by leasing it to non-profit partners who can provide affordable housing, furnish spaces for social enterprises and non-profit organizations, and offer urban agriculture and open space. | |
Toronto Islands Residential Community Trust Corp. | The Trust is mandated to provide stewardship of the Island Residential Community, ensuring that this community is maintained according to the principles which islanders fought hard for in their 30 year effort to retain their homes. | |
Muskoka CLT | The MCLT is a community led, nonprofit organization which benefits Muskoka by acquiring and stewarding lands, for the purpose of developing permanently affordable housing, social enterprise and food security. | |

Junction Village CLT (Guelph) | The JVG-CLT provides alternative land ownership and management to protect the community space and affordability for residents and members of the Junction Village Guelph. The JV-CLT will acquire land in the community—either by purchasing land directly or through donations of land and buildings, or money to purchase land. This land is held in perpetuity so that it can always be used for housing the people who make up the community. | |

La Communauté Milton-Parc (CLT) | The Milton Park Community (CMP) is a unique housing cooperative network with roots in community organizing in the 1970s, housing more than 1,500 people in low and moderate income housing in 616 apartments. The members of the cooperative are not individuals but social organizations. Their goals are the preservation of affordable housing in the city center and the safeguarding of elements of architectural heritage. La Communauté Milton-Parc (CMP) est un réseau unique de coopératives de logement dont les racines remontent à l’organisation communautaire des années 1970. Elle héberge plus de 1 500 personnes à revenu faible ou modéré dans 616 appartements. Les membres de la coopérative ne sont pas des individus mais des organisations sociales. Foncier Solidaire Brome Missisquoi | This project is creating community land trust (CLT) in the region of Brome-Missisquoi, east of Montreal. The group will be protecting land and buildings from speculation in order to generate truly and perpetually affordable housing for all. CLTs are a powerful tool for inclusive and solidarity-based territorial development. CLTs managed will integrate residential, commercial, agricultural and natural spaces. Brique par Brique | Brique par brique (BxB) is a nonprofit rooted in Parc-Extension, working to resist displacement and promote social justice through the collective stewardship of land. Founded by community organizers, BxB develops affordable housing, community spaces, and cultural programming by and for residents—particularly low-income newcomers and immigrants facing systemic barriers. Through grassroots leadership, solidarity, and research, we build a more equitable and inclusive neighbourhood for current and future generations. Brique par brique (BxB) est une association à but non lucratif ancrée dans Parc-Extension, qui s’efforce de résister au déplacement et de promouvoir la justice sociale par le biais de la gestion collective des terres. Crows’ Commons Co-operative | Crows’ Commons Co-operative provides pathways to culturally relevant and affordable housing, art, and farming for 2SLGBTQIA+ and disabled folks. We are an emerging land-sharing cooperative based on principles of commoning, coming together to grow food, make art, build housing, and nurture our community. We advocate for more accessible and inclusive rural communities and we envision the Commons as a place that holds and nurtures our creative spirits through gatherings, performance, respite, skill sharing, and community building. |
