Schedule

September 28

Opening Reception

The Summit opens at the Ottawa Art Gallery with a special reception featuring guest speakers and federal representatives.

September 29—30

Conference Days

We gather for two days at the historic Bayview Yards. Once a municipally-owned industrial site, the build is now turned innovation hub in the Hintonburg neighbourhood. It’s a living example of how thoughtful development can foster community and support local economies.

October 1

Day of Action

Field tours, Hill visits, and practical workshops—our final day focuses on turning learning into action.

Solidarity with Indigenous Peoples

The Summit takes place on the unceded traditional territory of the Algonquin Anishinabeg and the people of the Algonquin Anishinabeg Nation which encompasses the watershed of the Kitchissippi (Big River) now commonly known as the Ottawa River. “Ottawa” itself is erived from the Algonquin “adawe”, meaning “to trade”. We recognize and deeply appreciate the care the Algonquin Anishinabeg have shown this land since time immemorial.

For the first time, the Community Land Trust Summit will occur during the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This is a major opportunity to push our network’s ongoing conversations on reconciliation, decolonization, and rematriation. Stay tuned for special programming designed to both uplift Indigenous leadership and challenge network members to implement organizational reconciliation action plans.
